The Disappearance of Alice Creed

British writer and director J Blakeson makes a riveting feature debut with this original thriller that rocks from the first frame till its satisfying conclusion. The story about two men kidnapping a rich girl for ransom that's full of twists and turns that will keep the viewers on the edge of their seats. Gemma Arterton stars along with Martin Compston and Eddie Marsan as the only characters in the entire film that relies on their strong performances more than anything. Blakeson delivers a refreshing thriller on every level, original story, inspired casting and solid vision with plenty of style and substance that hopefully marks the beginning of a promising career. Arterton and Compston have come of age as the leads while veteran Marsan continues to impress. YRCinema's coverage of films at the Marché du Film at the 63rd Festival de Cannes.
