Tamara Drewe

Stephen Frears takes up a new challenge with this adaptation of a graphic novel which itself is based on Thomas Hardy's classic novel "Far from the Madding Crowd." In this highly entertaining crowd-pleaser, a transformed Tamara Drewe returns to her hometown to shake things up when she decides to sell her late mother's estate. There she's wooed by several men that makes her an instant target to local females while inspiring several writers at a retreat. Frears lightens up after several dramas with an attractive young cast that includes the girl of the moment Gemma Arterton who seems to be everywhere and Dominic Cooper and Luke Evans as the lads after Tamara Drewe.
