Four Lions

British writer and director Christopher Morris made his feature debut with this dark comedy. The misadventures of five wannabee terrorists, four with Pakistani roots with one Brit among them as they dream to join Al Qaeda and try to organize terrorist acts in Britain such as blowing up a mosque amongst others idiotic acts. Morris keeps the British tradition of satire and slapstick by tackling Islamic extremists or their perception by the West that would be unimaginable in the US. He created characters that are funny and lovable despite being incompetent idiots. Nobody gets away clean in the hand of Morris and his conspirators that includes Riz Ahmed, Kayvan Novak, Nigel Lindsay and Adeel Akhtar amongst others. YRCinema's coverage of films on DVD.
