The Skin I Live In

Spanish master Pedro Almodóvar delivers another knockout with this dramatic thriller. A brilliant plastic surgeon plans a vicious revenge on the man who raped his daughter. As always Almodóvar aims for more than just story and plot which he does and gets away with like nobody else, he goes back to his early career edge as he reunites with Antonio Banderas whom he made a star. Women always feature prominently in Almodóvar films and it's no exception here, Spanish beauty Elena Anaya gets her due to shine along with veteran Marisa Paredes. Production design, cinematography and music are always top notch in the films of Almodóvar. 1001-Films' coverage of the 64th Festival de Cannes.
