A Separation

Iranian writer and director Asghar Farhadi continues to impress as he delivers his best work to date with this intricate domestic drama. A couple's separation triggers a chain of events with devastating consequences. Farhadi shows impressive skills with this dazzling tale of domestic and courtroom drama where religion and class divide come to display. Farhadi is perhaps the best Iranian director who offers a glimpse into contemporary Iran despite the increasing restrictions by the government. The talented cast includes Peyman Moaadi, Leila Hatami and Sareh Bayat. 1001-Films' coverage of the 64th Festival de Cannes.
