Project Nim

British director James Marsh returns with another riveting documentary that's utterly heartbreaking. The story about an outrageous experiment in the 70's that involved a baby chimpanzee taken away from his mother to be raised by humans who was abused, exploited and abandoned. It's a jaw dropping and brilliant film in many ways as Marsh continues to take the documentary format to new heights. Marsh gets the people involved in project Nim to tell the infuriating story of animal abuse of cruelest kind that's just heartbreaking to watch. 1001-Films' coverage of the 64th Festival de Cannes.
